With a new year comes more opportunities to celebrate and strengthen the Korean American community. As we begin 2022, we would like to thank you again for your support and commitment to CKA and the growth of Korean American leaders. This past year, we’ve recognized many historic moments.

Actor and activist Daniel Dae Kim, CKA Member Kevin Kim, and human rights activist Sarah Min were appointed as Advisory Commissioners for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) and will advise the President on policies to respond to anti-Asian xenophobia, address intersectional barriers, and advance equity and opportunity.
In December, Emma has crowned the new Miss America, making history as the first Korean American and the first Alaskan to hold the national title.
Congratulations to CKA Member Linda Lee for her election to New York City Council! Linda will represent District 23 and serve as one of the five new Asian Americans serving in the new city council…
Congratulations to Don for his appointment to Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc.’s board of directors! He is also a member of the Audit, Compensation, and Nomination and Corporate Governance committees.
Dr. Jaewon Ryu was ranked 62nd in Modern Healthcare’s annual list of “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” for Geisinger’s work in expanding home health services and plans to open a new orthopedics center. Congratulations!
