What does it mean to truly give back—and how can it shape your leadership journey? The CKA Women’s Affinity Group (WAG), in partnership with the Korea Finance Society (KFS), hosted a powerful and inspiring conversation on the importance of giving back within the Korean American community.
Opening remarks were delivered by CKA Board Member and KFS Member Sandra Schubert, along with CKA Board Member and WAG Co-Chair Lisa Yang.
Moderated by Lisa Yang, speakers Karen Choi and Connie Chung-Joe shared candid reflections on their leadership journeys, the importance of representation, and how life experiences—including motherhood—have deepened their commitment to service, mentorship, and philanthropy.
A central theme of the discussion was “give to gain.” By investing our time, talent, and resources into our communities, we not only uplift others—we also grow as leaders and strengthen the networks that support future generations. From young professionals exploring ways to get involved to seasoned leaders offering mentorship and nonprofit expertise, this conversation highlights how every stage of life presents an opportunity to give back.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to continuing the conversation at the CKA Women’s Affinity Group in-person gathering in Los Angeles on October 22.
