CKA Selects Fourteen Fellows to Represent NetKAL XII!
Fourteen fellows joined the Network of Korean American Leaders (NetKAL) and began their five-month leadership development journey in Bozeman, MT, under the theme, Leadership, Mental Strength & Personal Narratives. Fellows met with local leaders and participated in leadership development sessions with CKA Member and NetKAL Facilitator Jeanie Y. Chang, LMFT. We are proud to have this exceptional cohort represent NetKAL and the broader community of Korean American leaders across the country.
Marshall Cho Represents at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit!
CKA Member Marshall Cho recently announced his retirement from his position as Head Boys’ Basketball Coach for Lake Oswego High School. Despite this, his advocacy for the voice and interests of Korean Americans remains unwavering. In a recent interview discussing his involvement in the Nike Hoop Summit, Cho expressed his pride in representing his state and as a Korean American while emphasizing the importance of building bridges between different communities.
“Representing our state, the fact that I am a Korean-American, that I have a dash in the middle, I really take pride in that and I hope that this is a game that helps me to build bridges between everybody else in the world and Portland, Oregon.”
Jeanie Chang Signs Book Deal with Wiley Publishing!
CKA Member Jeanie Chang, licensed clinician, coach, and speaker, has signed a book deal with Wiley Publishing Company, a global leader in education and research. In her upcoming book, she will be writing about her work as Noona’s Noonchi, her social media platform where she deep dives into K-Dramas from a mental health perspective. Her book on K-Dramas and Mental Health will be the first of its kind and she is thrilled about what it means for the field of psychology to include K-content in education and research.
Dow Kim Joins the SK On’s Advisory Board
Private Investor Dow Kim joined the Advisory Board of SK On, a fast-growing global EV battery manufacturer of the SK Group, the second-largest business conglomerate in Korea. SK On is led by the CEO, Chey Jae-Won, who is also the Executive Vice Chairman of the SK Group.
Charles Jung Organizes National Event and Featured in CNN
Nassiri & Jung LLP Principal Charles Jung organized Always With Us, a national event to unite the Asian American community at the two-year anniversary of the March 16 Atlanta shootings. He also appeared in two stories from CNN, one broadcast warning the Democratic party to pay attention to the growing frustration of Asian American voters, and another he was quoted regarding the Congressional TikTok hearings.

Jeffrey Kim Presented New Korean American Ethnic Studies Curriculum
Dr. Jeff Kim, Ed.D, NBCT, MPH recently presented the new High School Korean American Ethnic Studies Course and Korean American Stories of Resilience at the Korean American Educator Leaders’ Networking Night, the California Association for Bilingual Association Conference, and the 2nd Annual Korean American Ethnic Studies Conference.
