Season Two Recap of CKA Podcast Korean American Perspectives
Date Published: June 11, 2020
Back in March, we launched the second season of our Korean American Perspectives podcast. At that time, the scope of the COVID19 pandemic had not yet been fully grasped. Little did we know that over the next few months, we would push through a series of public health, economic and political crises.
During these challenging times, our podcast team wanted to bring stories and insights to our listeners who are sheltered at home, isolated from their communities and navigating through disruptions. Over the course of 11 episodes, we discussed major topics, such as mental health, family relationships, vulnerability & courage, diversity & representation in the workplace and how to reflect upon our own Korean American identities.
These past few months, Alpin Hong, Monica Kang, and Chil Kong showed us how to trust our hearts and carve out our own paths. Julia Park and Jeanie Chang encouraged us to prioritize our mental health. Kee Park and Eugene Cho reminded us that we as individuals can indeed make global impacts. David Chun and Jinhee Ahn Kim challenged us to break the barriers in our professional careers, and Stephanie Han empowered us to take charge of our narratives and write our own stories. All of our speakers shared a key message: ultimately it is up to us to advocate and fight for the change we wish to see.
Thank you again for supporting the Korean American Perspectives podcast. We are already at work on another exciting season. If there are topics that you would like us to explore, don’t hesitate to contact us and provide suggestions.
