Council of Korean Americans Regional Chapters
WASHINGTON, DC – September 18, 2024 – The Council of Korean Americans (CKA), a national non-profit organization advancing the voice and influence of the Korean American community, announced today the launch of its Regional Chapters in Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; and Southern California. The establishment of these Chapters will be followed by additional cities opening Chapters in the coming year.
The CKA Regional Chapters will aid in fulfilling the mission, values, and pillars of CKA through activities, communication, and member engagement in the local communities. The Regional Chapters goals are to:
- Foster interaction among CKA members locally
- Encourage volunteerism and leadership at the local level
- Organize events and activities strengthening regional networks
- Serve as collaboration hubs with local Korean American / AANHPI organizations
Each Chapter will be led by a Steering Committee and supported by a group of Regional Advisors.
“By establishing these Regional Chapters, we will be able to better serve and engage CKA members and Korean American communities in different cities across the U.S. by providing tailored programs and events led by our local leaders,” said CKA Executive Director Abraham Kim. “Our goal is to energize our local leadership communities, promote regional collaboration with other like-minded organizations, and ultimately, build a stronger national Korean American community.”
CKA will be launching additional Chapters in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and other cities in the coming months. More details about these efforts will be announced at a later date.
