We can’t believe one month has already passed since the close of our IgniteNextGen Fellowship Program! As the summer comes to a close, we want to reflect back on the magnitude of their achievements and journeys.
For six weeks, our IgniteNextGen Fellows had an incredible experience of growth, self-discovery, and identity-building as they met virtually from across the country. Our thirty fellows received amazing mentorship and absorbed wisdom from incredible speakers such as award-winning author Dr. Stephanie Han and Dean & Chancellor’s Professor of Law at UC Irvine School of Law Dr. L. Song Richardson. They were coached by Korean American leaders Jeanie Chang, Tad Yo, Connie Chung Joe, and Stephen Seo. Finally, the fellows formed meaningful and lifelong friendships with one another and this opportunity definitely provided them an unforgettable virtual experience.
Despite the difficulties and uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our generous supporters and donors, along with the help of our wonderful staff and friends, allowed these college students to have one of the most rewarding summer learning experiences of their lives. We are proud to say that these young fellows are now equipped with new professional skills and mental resilience to face the world with newfound courage.
