Washington, D.C. — December 5, 2024 — The Council of Korean Americans (CKA) expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Congresswoman Judy Chu as she concludes her extraordinary 14-year tenure as Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). Throughout her tenure as chair, Representative Chu has been a steadfast advocate for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, spearheading vital legislation and addressing the pressing challenges faced by these diverse populations across the nation.
As Representative Chu passes the leadership baton, CKA welcomes Congresswoman Grace Meng as the new CAPAC Chair. We eagerly anticipate collaborating on initiatives that uplift the AANHPI community and promote justice and opportunity for all. Furthermore, we congratulate the newly elected leadership team: First Vice Chair-Elect Congressman Mark Takano, Second Vice Chair-Elect Congresswoman Jill Tokud, Whip-Elect Congressman Ami Bera, and Freshman Representative-Elect Congressman Suhas Subramanyam.
