His leadership development practice is dedicated to helping individuals and teams grow through self-awareness, resilience, and effective communication. After 31 years of honorable service, he retired as the Command Chaplain for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Joint Force Headquarters–Department of Defense Information Networks (DODIN), located at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. In this role, he advised senior leaders on matters of spiritual fitness, moral leadership, ethical conduct, and religious liberty.

Throughout his career, Chaplain Kim served as a true spiritual leader for Soldiers, being present in formations and during crises, in counseling rooms, and in combat zones. He completed three deployments in support of U.S. operations—two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan—where he provided steady care, clear moral counsel, and mission-focused resilience to Service Members and their families under pressure.

Originally from Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, Chaplain Kim served in the Republic of Korea Army before immigrating to the United States in 1989. After his time as a U.S. Army Cavalry Scout, he pursued theological education and ministry, eventually returning to active duty as a U.S. Army Chaplain. He holds a Master of Divinity (MDIV) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and an MA in Counseling from Webster University. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (Doctoral Candidate) at Regent University. He is certified as an MBTI® Master Practitioner and in EQ-i 2.0/EQ 360, tools he uses to help leaders grow from the inside out.

Chaplain Kim and his wife, Eun, have been married since 1991. They are proud parents of three children and joyful grandparents of one granddaughter.
