Soo Venkatesan combines business and nonprofit experience in the finance, investment, and philanthropic sectors to amplify the impact of mission-driven entrepreneurs and leaders. She has advised a portfolio of nonprofits in the areas of board governance, organizational capacity, scaling impact, and fundraising as an advisor, board member, consultant, and senior grantmaker at S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Previously, she invested in and advised private companies as a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Capital, and later through an advisory firm she co-founded.
Soo tries to keep pace with her two teenage boys and is grateful for her board service on US Squash (Chairman of the Board), San Francisco Opera (Nominating & Governance Co-Chair), and Partnership for Children & Youth (Nominating & Governance Chair). She is a former trustee of The Nueva School and San Francisco School Volunteers / San Francisco Education Fund and is a graduate of K-12 public schools, University of Virginia, and Harvard Business School.
