Soo Venkatesan is an investor and nonprofit advisor with experience in the finance, investment, and philanthropic sectors. She supports a portfolio of investments and entrepreneurial ventures with her husband through BFR Partners and other entities. Previously, she invested in a venture to mid-market companies as Vice President at J.P. Morgan Capital, and later through a firm she co-founded. She is focused on scaling the impact of mission-driven leaders and has advised nonprofits in the areas of board governance, organizational capacity, and fundraising as a board member, consultant, and senior grantmaker at S.D. Bechtel, Jr. and Gordon and Betty Moore foundations.
Soo serves on the board and chaired the governance committee of the San Francisco Opera and Partnership for Children & Youth. She previously served as Board Chair of US Squash, board trustee of The Nueva School and San Francisco Education Fund (School Volunteers), and was a founding investor-member of the STEM Funders Network. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she serves on the executive committee of the Benefactor Society Board of the College Foundation, and Harvard Business School.
