Sanghyun Alexander Kim

Sanghyun is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Site Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Downtown-Union Square, and Mount Sinai Morningside.

He received a Doctorate of Medicine degree from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He completed a general surgery residency at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Sanghyun began his career at Mount Sinai in 2005 as an Assistant Professor.

Specializing in robotic, laparoscopic, and trans-anal surgical techniques, he has been a large part of colon and rectal surgery fellowship training at Sinai for the last 19 years. 

Sanghyun has also been involved with KAMA and AKAM for 20 years. Currently serving as a president for KAMPANY, he is continuing efforts to connect Korean physicians and professionals in NY/NJ to serve the community better.
