Renee Lee is a public affairs specialist at the Department of State. Prior to joining the federal government in 2011, Renee was a public affairs officer in the U.S. Air Force with assignments and deployments in the Pacific region. She has a bachelors degree in communication from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a master’s degree of public diplomacy from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
Renee is a member of the 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard at Joint Base Andrews, Md., where she continues to serve as a public affairs officer. She is also a U.S. Air Force regional affairs strategist with a specialty in Northeast Asia. Renee has served on the board of the Asian American Foreign Affairs Association and Veterans@State, and is a 2011 Presidential Management Fellow. She is bilingual in Korean and proficient in French. Though raised mostly in East Asia as a U.S. Army brat, Renee calls Hawaii her U.S. home.
