She is known for translating research into strategies that promote a radical shift in healthcare that embraces self-care or preventative care, which blends new science and old wisdom.

Michelle has extensive private sector and non-profit experience in strategy, sustainability, fashion, education, and children’s literacy. Michelle earned her MBA from Harvard Business School, BA in Economics from Wellesley College, and graduated from two functional food programs. As a board member, Michelle has served as a media spokesperson, moderator, C-Suite recruiter, strategic advisor, and connector and pitch partner for partnership and fundraising opportunities. She launched two transformative strategic initiatives related to her board roles at Redress and BMABHK.

As Co-founder and Founding CEO, Michelle launched BYT, a social enterprise that redefines fashion’s polluting practices by creating high-end collections out of “waste” materials. Michelle won Grand Prize in HK for BYT for the Chivas Venture competition. Michelle pitched the idea for BYT during a strategic offsite while COO and Board Member of Redress and was appointed CEO of BYT to launch and build the brand as a way to amplify Redress’ mission while also providing monetization opportunities. Michelle was nominated for AMCHAM’s Women of Influence award and the HK Adventist Hospital’s Women of Hope award.

As Chair of the BMABHK’s Books Committee, Michelle launched Find Me a Book, the world’s first bi-lingual Chinese and English book engine, which nurtures positive child development. FMAB has catalyzed new income-generating opportunities with schools and bookstores like Book Depository. In a landmark partnership, FMAB now informs 50% of the book selection in all HK Public Libraries. Michelle has also played leadership roles in revamping BMABHK’s social media, content strategy, visual identity, and strategic vision offsites.

Michelle is passionate about driving social impact and serves as a board director and founding member of various mission-driven organizations, most recently GrowNYC, an environmental non-profit focused on food access, agriculture, and green spaces. She lives with her family in HK and NYC and has been invited to speak at organizations, including Google.
