Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, she worked as a journalist and a public relations executive at Edelman Public Relations, where she managed communications and investor relations for software, telecommunications, and semiconductor companies.
Lina is dedicated to elevating the representation and voice of marginalized communities, including Asian American communities. She serves as an advisory board member of University of California – San Francisco’s (UCSF) CARE Program to address gaps in the health research registry and also serves as a community advisor and consultant for the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Nursing on breast cancer pain and management research. She was the co-founder of Korean American Coalition in the Bay Area and is an active member of Chief.
Lina was born in Korea and since moving to the United States at the age of four, she has lived in almost every region of the U.S., including Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas. Lina holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Emory University and a master’s in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego. Her life joys are yoga, ocean strolls, reading, and meaningful conversations with family and friends.
