Janice Y. K. Lee is the author of the New York Times bestselling novels, The Piano Teacher and The Expatriates.  Both titles were published to critical acclaim from the New York Times, People, and the New Yorker among others. The Piano Teacher was translated into 26 languages worldwide and spent 19 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. The Expatriates is being made into a television series starring Nicole Kidman at Amazon Studios.  Janice’s writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Travel & Leisure, as well as numerous other publications. She graduated from Harvard University with a degree in English and American Literature and Language and worked as an editor at ELLE and Mirabella magazines in New York. The recipient of several residencies at Yaddo, the artist colony in Saratoga Springs, she now serves as co-chair of the board. She is also a board member at St. Paul’s School and a member of the Global Advisory Council at Harvard University. She lives in New York with her husband and four children.
