Janet Shin is an attorney and claims professional with over 15 years of experience in the defense litigation and claims management of medical malpractice lawsuits. Recently, Ms. Shin joined Markel Services Inc., responsible for the handling of high complexity and high exposure claims against lawyers and law firms. Markel is a Fortune 500, diverse financial holding company serving a variety of niche markets, with its principal business in specialty insurance products. Prior to joining, Ms. Shin worked in a large healthcare organization managing outside counsel on professional liability claims, managing healthcare risks to the organization, and leading its Asian American Business Employee Resource Group.

Ms. Shin is constantly engaged in Asian American community groups, legal and community efforts to further AAPI education and goals, as well as serving as an active board member of the State University of New York Old Westbury Foundation. She is proud to be a NetKAL XI Fellow and a graduate of the McKinsey & Company Executive Leadership Program.
