David Chu

David Chu is an entrepreneur in media and entertainment. David was the co-founder and CEO of Digital Media Rights (DMR), a digital media and entertainment company which operated 7 streaming TV channels, a digital video advertising marketplace, and was a global distributor of feature films and TV programs with a library of over 7,500 titles. DMR was acquired by Cineverse in 2022 where David was the EVP and GM overseeing their suite of 14 owned and operated streaming TV channels.

Prior to forming Digital Media Rights, David was the co-founder and head of programming and production for ImaginAsian TV, America’s first Asian American cable television network. David also headed the ImaginAsian Theaters (NY, LA) and oversaw their theatrical and home video distribution divisions. ImaginAsian TV was acquired by CJ Entertainment in 2009.

David has over 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry with prior positions at Showtime Networks and The Sundance Channel. David received a B.A. in Political Science from New York University, and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He also studied acting at The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and The Gene Frankel Theater in New York. David currently lives in Seoul with his family.
