Prior to his role at Fairfax County EDA, he held the position of Managing Director at Kairos Global Network, played a crucial role in driving the growth and management of diverse private equity, project finance, and structured debt portfolio. During his tenure as a Deputy Director at Korea Innovation Center (KIC) under the Ministry of Science Korea Government, he arranged over 300K sales for the KIC program participated companies. Preceding his work at KIC, Brian served as the Senior Manager of International Investment at KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), a state-funded agency operated by the South Korean government. In this capacity, Brian was responsible for researching incentive programs offered by various states to attract potential Korean investors and successfully attracting foreign direct investment to South Korea. Additionally, Brian organized numerous international and local events related to international trade and economy, including Select USA events for Korean SMEs, which were co-hosted with esteemed US partners such as the National Governors Association (NGA), the US Embassy in Korea, and the Business Round Table (BRT). He also facilitated events for Korea’s Presidential Delegation.
Brian’s professional journey includes several years of dedicated service to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), one of Korea’s largest economic entities representing 71,000 member companies. In his roles as a strategic business development manager and market researcher, Brian was instrumental in strategic business planning, executing outreach programs at a high level, and facilitating meetings with state government officials and CEOs of regional chambers of commerce. Notably, Brian played a key role in organizing the Congressional Reception, a flagship program of KITA’s DC Office.
Brian holds a B.A. in Business Management from Pennsylvania State University in Pennsylvania, USA. His educational background, combined with his extensive experience in trade and investment promotion, has equipped him with valuable insights and expertise in fostering economic growth, enhancing the competitiveness of Korean firms, and improving the national image of South Korea.
