Betty Y. Chung is a former U.S. diplomat and the Managing Principal of Jeong Pacific Advisors LLC, bringing over twenty years of experience advancing diplomacy, development, and strategic cooperation across the Indo-Pacific. As the daughter of a North Korean refugee and a legacy of post-war U.S. development assistance to South Korea, her heritage drives a lifelong commitment to fostering resilient collaborations that promote peace, justice, and regional stability.
Ms. Chung has guided multinational teams through complex crisis response and conflict prevention initiatives, leveraging public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable solutions. Driven by a commitment to community, she mentors next-generation leaders and supports reconciliation efforts on the Korean Peninsula.
A NetKAL V fellow, Ms. Chung holds degrees from Brown University and the George Washington University Law School. She applies her executive governance expertise on the Board of Directors for Orange Spark, a nonprofit bridging the skills gap within the creative economy, and integrates her faith into local service as a member of New Hope Oahu. An avid golfer and scuba diver, Ms. Chung resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.
