CPT Benjamin K. White is currently a Civil Affairs Officer Candidate at the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Command and School (USAJFKSWCS) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Benjamin graduated Cum Laude with Honors and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Chemical Corps from The University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida in May of 2016. He holds a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Government and World Affairs.

Upon commissioning, Benjamin was assigned as a Platoon Leader for the 445th Chemical Company, Illinois Army National Guard, in Shiloh, Illinois. Additionally, he worked for Representative Bill Foster of Illinois’ 11th Congressional District in Washington, D.C. where Benjamin supported the Congressman through drafting speeches and legislation. Benjamin remained active outside of the office, supporting events with the Asian Pacific American Institute of Congressional Studies, and was selected to attend The White House Initiative on Asian and Pacific Islanders’ inaugural National Forum for AAPI Military Members and Veterans.

His most recent assignment was as Executive Officer and Platoon Leader with the Honor Guard Company, United Nations Command, United States Forces Korea in which Benjamin directly supported the Commanding General of UNC/CFC/USFK and foreign dignitaries for ceremonial details across the Republic of Korea. He was also the lead for synchronizing communications strategy with international partners and the United Nations Command.  

Benjamin has served as an NBCRV Stryker Platoon Leader, 23d CBRN Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade, and supported combined exercises with the ROK Army. His third previous assignment was as the Assistant Battalion Operations Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, Eighth Army where Benjamin was active in the planning and operations for major exercises in support of Eighth Army and Republic of Korea allies. 

Benjamin was born in Jeonju, South Korea. He was adopted shortly thereafter and raised outside of St. Louis in Swansea, Illinois. He has knowledge of Chinese, Russian, and Korean languages.
