After immigrating to the United States at the age of two, Arrie grew up in Los Angeles and attended public school through college. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, in Economics/Business from UCLA while working three jobs to pay for college. After college she worked at Price Waterhouse before attending Yale Law School, where she again worked throughout her second and third years to pay for her education.

Following law school, Arrie joined Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York as a corporate M&A attorney, where she practiced for nearly a decade. She later returned to California to join Hellman & Friedman (H&F), a premier private equity firm based in San Francisco. Arrie joined H&F as General Counsel and has spent the past 21 years at the firm. She currently serves as a Partner and Chief Legal Officer.

In addition to her role at H&F, Arrie serves on the boards of the Yale Law School Fund Board and the American Investment Council, an advocacy and resource organization for the private investment industry.

Arrie is the daughter of the late Jae Min Roh, who dedicated his life to serving the Korean American community in Los Angeles and was recognized with numerous honors, including the City of Los Angeles Career Service Award and the Presidential Lifetime Service Award under President Biden. She is also a proud mother of three children, all of whom are actively learning Korean.
