At Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Jay served in multiple leadership roles, including the Vice Chair of Education, Director of Head and Neck Imaging, Division Chief of Neuroradiology, and Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency. She was also an active member of the Medical Executive Committee.
For Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM), she served as a co-director for the Diagnostic Reasoning and Testing (DRT) medical school course and served on multiple committees for the GUSOM, including as a Faculty Senate member, Committee on Students, Committee of Admissions, and as a member of the DEI subcommittee of the Faculty Development Committee. She was recently selected by her peers as the senior representative for the Council of Faculty and Academic Societies for the Association of American Medical Schools.
At a national level, Dr. Jay is the Chair of the DEI committee of the Association of Academic Radiologists (AAR) and of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) and was the principal founder of the IDEA Scholars (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Allyship) certificate program through the AAR. She is also a board member of the Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) of the American College of Radiology and is co-Chair of the RLI’s Leadership Essentials program. Dr. Jay is also an exam question writer for the Subspecialty/Certifying Neuroradiology subcommittee for the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Jay is passionate about education and was recently awarded a scholarship through the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) to be a Visiting Professor in Brazil. Later this spring, she will be lecturing on behalf of the ACR Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP) in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Jay has received multiple awards recognizing her commitment to teaching and service including the Teacher of the Year award from the residency and a Golden Apple Award from the medical school and the Above and Beyond award from the Radiology department.
Her medical degree is from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She then completed a two-year Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she stayed on as faculty before joining Georgetown.
