James Kim is a Partner at ArentFox Schiff, where he advises U.S. and multinational companies on international trade, customs law, and regulatory compliance. His practice focuses on helping businesses navigate complex U.S. trade policies, tariffs, supply chain challenges, and government enforcement matters, particularly in the automotive, technology, semiconductor, e-commerce and renewable energy industries.

Before entering private practice, James served as an attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he helped implement the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and advised on international trade agreements and customs regulations. He draws on this government experience to help companies navigate the intersection of trade policy, business strategy, and global commerce.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, James is an active speaker and writer on international trade developments. As a NetKAL alum and through CKA, he seeks to build meaningful connections across the Korean-American professional community, support the next generation of leaders, and contribute to greater Korean-American representation and influence in business and public life.
