On Tuesday, February 2, the Council of Korean Americans (CKA) is proud to announce a speaker event with Dr. Jonny Kim, NASA Astronaut, U.S. Navy Lieutenant, and Harvard-trained Physician.
Come listen to an in-depth conversation with Dr. Jonny Kim as he shares about his Korean American immigrant upbringing in Southern California, his military career as a member of U.S. Navy SEAL (with over 100 operations), his medical training at Harvard University, and his experiences as a NASA astronaut. He recently qualified to be a part of the Artemis team’s upcoming 2024 mission to the Moon.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Mat Park, Subject Matter Expert in Organizational and Leadership Development at NASA, and will also feature a Q&A session with the audience following the conversation.

Dr. Mat Park works at NASA as a Subject Matter Expert in Organizational and Leadership Development. He is one of the Agency’s top change consultants and is helping NASA leaders adapt to the ever-changing landscape of business paradigm shifts and culture change to achieve mission success. Dr. Mat has built custom training on stress resilience, strategic communication, and teamwork. Prior to his service at NASA, Dr. Mat earned his Clinical Psychology degree with a special emphasis on Sport Psychology and taught full-time as a professor at John F. Kennedy University. Dr. Mat has consulted with numerous world-class Sports figures, Olympians, and Executives on building a masterful mindset, cultivating meaningful relationships, and lasting behavioral change for themselves, their people, and their teams.
