Craft & Culture: CKA SoCal Tasting & Mixer
On October 10, the CKA SoCal Chapter celebrated its launch by hosting a Tasting & Mixer in LA’s Koreatown. The SoCal launch event provided an opportunity for CKA members to reconnect and it highlighted how Korean American leaders in the craft beverage space are innovating their products for modern audiences while also paying homage to Korean culture.
The panel discussion featured Juliet Kim Blake, Founder & CEO of Ginsa Brands, a sparkling non-alcoholic ginseng seltzer; Brian Lee, sommelier and Co-Owner of Open Market, a local café and wine shop in Koreatown; and Carol Pak, Founder & CEO of Màkku, a canned makgeolli rice beer. Panelists spoke about their career journeys, what sets their product apart from others, and how they have embraced their identity as Korean American founders.
Special thank you to our SoCal Steering Committee Members & Advisors, panelists, and everyone who joined this milestone event! CKA is proud to see its SoCal Chapter foster a stronger, more engaged community of Korean American leaders, while promoting entrepreneurship and cultural heritage in Southern California.
