The daughter of a Korean-born mother and Brooklyn-born father, Allison Lee Pillinger Choi was born and raised in South Florida. Alli studied at Harvard where she concentrated in Economics, competed on the NCAA Division I Varsity Tennis team, and worked at The Harvard Crimson. After graduating in 2006, she moved to New York City where she worked as an analyst at Goldman Sachs and then Equinox. Alli had her first book, Bleeding Heart Conservatives: Why It’s Good To Be Right, published in 2016. Since this time, her work has been published by outlets including the San Fransisco Chronicle, City Journal by Manhattan Institute, Intercollegiate Studies Institute, and Bold Global Media. Alli has contributed her time to the nonprofit organization New York Cares, the New York Hospital Weill Cornell Council, the Women’s National Republican Club, and the Manhattan Institute Young Leader Circle. Her latest initiative is dedicated to Experiment In Dialogue, a bipartisan nonprofit set on breaking down political polarization. Alli lives with her husband and two preschoolers in New York City.
